Guidelines for Dealing with Injuries & Accidents

First Aid Box Locations
• Main Clubhouse Kitchen, Umpires room and
Changing rooms
• Douglas Ground Pavilion – Changing rooms

Defibrillator (AED)
• Main Clubhouse wall near entrance to Kitchen
• Outside Barnt Green Post Office (Hewell Road, B45 8NL)

Nearest Minor Injuries Unit
• Princess of Wales Community Hospital (Stourbridge Road, Bromsgrove, B61 0BB), Telephone 01527 488000, approx. 10 mins by car

Nearest Accident & Emergency Departments
• Alexandra Hospital (Woodrow Drive, Redditch, B98 7UB) approx. 20 mins by car
• Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Mindelsohn Way, Edgbaston, Birmingham, B15 2WB) approx. 20 mins by car

What to do
• Stay calm but act swiftly
• First check that you and the casualty aren’t in any danger, and, if possible, make the situation safe
• In an emergency (if the casualty is seriously ill or injured or if life is at risk) call 999
• If you are not sure call NHS 111 for guidance
• Find a First Aider to carry out basic First Aid
• Do not move someone with a serious injury – wait for emergency medics
• Ensure that the rest of the group is adequately supervised
• Contact the casualty’s parents/carers or other family member
• Complete the Accident & Incident Book (located in the Clubhouse kitchen or behind the bar)
