Hard to believe that with six foot snowdrifts in recent weeks, the cricket season is around the corner.

Friday evening training kicks off on 20th April, and again we are pleased to welcome back our coaching partners Try Scoring Runs and Complete Cricket.

Before then, save Friday 13th April in your diary for a social evening, providing an opportunity to get together and meet the coaches. Bar will be open, with music, raffle and light food laid on. Hope to see you there.

Junior membership prices remain the same as in recent years, again with sibling discounts. For junior matches, no match fees are charged.

Under 9 and above - membership £125
Under 8 and below - membership £90

We would be grateful if you can complete and return the junior player profile and membership form found in the documents section of the website: http://www.barntgreencc.com/d/documents.html?group_id=7905 so we can ensure we have up-to-date contact and medical details.

On the field we have entered our junior teams into competitions from under 8s through to under 17s. Our under 8s and under 9s will again play a series of festivals which over the years have proven to be great fun for the boys and girls. The festival dates are as follows:

Under 8s

20th May at Cookhill (pm)
24th June at Hagley (am)
8th July at Barnt Green (am)
22nd July avoncroft (am

Under 9s:

20th May at Astwood Bank (am)
3rd June at Feckenham
17th June at Barnt Green
1st July at Alvechurch

Under 10s open their account on Sunday 6th May in their first hardball match away at Bromsgrove.

Under 11s' Premier League season starts away at Worcester on the 29th April, shortly followed by a Pairs fixture the week afterwards.

Under 12s are straight into action in the premier League fixture on Sunday 22nd April, with a County cup tie away at Avoncroft on Tuesday 12th June.

Under 13s look to replicate last year's county champions' success in the ECB Nationals, with their first round of the cup at home to Feckenham, whilst league action begins on Sunday 29th April away at rivals Kidderminster.

Under 14s see T20 and Pairs fixtures starting week commencing 30th April away at Astwood Bank, with a County cup tie away to Pedmore on Monday 4th June.

Our Under 15s also look to follow in the footsteps of our previous 2016 ECB National Cup Winners (no pressure Darren!), with a first round tie at Redditch, with T20 league fixtures also in the diary.

One of our guiding principles is our development of players to support our thriving senior teams in the Birmingham Premier And Worcestershire County Leagues. Our pathway to senior cricket can be found here: https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/files.pitchero.com/clubs/35543/BarntGreenJuniorCricketClubPathwaytoMensCricket2014Seasonv2.pdfhttps://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/files.pitchero.com/clubs/35543/BarntGreenJuniorCricketClubPathwaytoMensCricket2014Seasonv2.pdf

The care of our juniors is our top priority. All our coaches and assistants are DBS approved and our Welfare Officer, Tony Hewetson, is regularly on hand on Friday evenings. Tony's contact details are displayed in the clubhouse, and can also be contacted in confidence on 07504 395479.

Finally a quick reminder that all junior selection is done via the club’s website at www.barntgreencc.com, so please ensure you’ve remembered your login from last year! Please check to see that your child’s age group is correctly shown to help with availability. Any problems with logins, please contact me via email at robwarner142@hotmail.com.

Hope to see many of you on the 13th April at our social evening.

Wishing you all the best for the forthcoming 2018 season,

Yours,

Rob Warner
BGCC Junior Cricket Chairman
