Under 9s continue their good form in latest festival

1 year ago By Rob Warner

The second Festival for the U9s pitched us against Astwood Bank, Alvechurch and Feckenham.

The boys and girls had a tremendous morning, winning all three games! Our bowling attack made all the difference - who needs Anderson and Broad when you have Smith, Wiggins, Meade, Jones, Bennett, Hedges, Dines, Preston and Shaylor.

All three games were hard fought, with very few runs between the teams. Batting first against Astwood Bank we posted 243, including a big six from Frazer Jones - and held them to 232.

Bowling first against Alvechurch we held them to 225, which included a magnificent catch by George Hedges - and then scored 236 in reply.

Game 3 was a very close affair with Feckenham, where we batted first and scored 243 - it was tight up going into the last over, where Joe Meade bowled superbly only conceding a single run, limiting them to 236.

The Green Army are certainly on the march!
