Andy has made the difficult decision to stand down but will continue to play and, as Vice-Captain support new captain Darrell Williams.

Andy, who has been with the Green for ten years now, has taken on added responsibilities with Worcestershire County Cricket Club which will have an impact on the time needed to skipper BGCC. Currently heading up the County Age Group (CAG) programme he will now have added responsibilities with Worcestershire 2nd XI this coming summer.

The club would like to thank Andy for his six years' tenure as Club Captain.

During the last six years The Green have maintained their status in the Birmingham League Premier Division (the only club never to be relegated from the top tier of the original Premier League set up in 1998), have finished runners up in 2014 as well as reaching the QFs of the two ECB national competitions during that time.

Andy has said:
“I am very proud to have captained this great club for the last 6 years and to see so many good home grown players improve within the club. To see young BGCC players move into professional cricket and shine also makes me very proud to be a part of their development.
I would like to thank Stew Johnstone, Colin Banton, Darren Cullen, Simon Froggatt, all of the cricket committee and every one of the players for their support on and off the field over the last 6 years and I’ll be doing my utmost for this club to keep pushing forward.”

The new cricket committee will be right behind new captain Darrell and there will be further detail in the coming days on new signings for the 2019 Season.
